BIDDING IN OUR ONLINE AUCTIONS
Getting Started in Our Online Auctions
TO ENTER THE AUCTION, LOOK FOR THE PICTURE OF THE RED BARN ON THE HOME PAGE. CLICK THE "VIEW CATALOG" or "ENTER AUCTION" BUTTON, NEXT TO THE NAME OF THE CURRENT AUCTION.
This takes you to the "OUR SALES" page on the auction platform. You can view our Current Auction(s) and Past Auctions there. You click on the photo or the title of the auction to open it up to see all the lots.
The first time you go here, you need to Click the "Register" button at the top right hand side of the page and fill in the information there. Choose a User Name and Password that you will remember, because that is how you will enter all of our auctions and bid.
If it takes you to a page with different auctions offered by Apro, you can scroll to ours or type in www.netxauctions.com to go to our website again.
CWhen you are registered, go to our Current Auction and click on it (either the photo or the title of the auction) to see the lots and begin bidding. You will need to log in and agree to the terms before making your first bid in each auction. You will also need to go to MY ACCOUNT, CREDIT CARDS, then ADD PAYMENT METHOD to enter your credit card info.
View items and bid.
The Bid Gallery shows all the lots in the auction. Click on an item you are interested in to see more details about the item and more photos.
To the right of the word "Reset," you can click to change the view/layout of the lots. Find which one you like best and use that one.
Bidding
You can either click “Quick Bid” which shows the next bidding increment and places your bid in that amount OR you can enter “Your Highest Bid.” Choosing “Your Highest Bid” increases your bid only to the next bidding increment (unless someone else has also entered a higher Highest Bid) and continues to raise it by only the specified bidding increments until it reaches your maximum.
You can also click the Categories Button to see items in specific categories. If you do that and then want to go back to see all categories, click on the Bid Gallery button.
The auction will have a small green “Winning” box if you have the winning bid, and a small red “Losing” box if someone has outbid you.
The Bidders Premium is still 10% if you pay with cash. It is now 13% if you pay with a debit or credit card.
Bidding Tips:
Refresh Your Screen
Refresh your screen occasionally to make sure you have the most up to date info, (how much time is remaining on an item? Have you been outbid?)
Staggered Close
The items in our auctions do not all end at the same time. Instead, we use a "rolling" or "staggered" close. The auction will note the closing rate, which is usually 4-5 items per minute. So, for example, if the auction begins closing at 7:00 p.m. at the rate of 4 items per minute, items 1, 2, 3, & 4 will end at 7:00 p.m., items 5, 6, 7, & 8 will end at 7:01, and so on. See also, "Soft Close" below.
Soft Close
Our auctions use a "Soft Close" which means that the remaining time for an item is extended if a bid is placed for the item within the last 5 minutes. This gives you time to place a higher bid if you wish, if you are outbid at the last minute.
Preview & Pick-Up
Preview
Auction items are available for preview at set times during each auction.
We strongly encourage you to preview the items in the auction if you can. We do our best to take good pictures and describe each item as accurately as possible, but there is nothing like seeing the item for yourself.
We operate out of the back of Red BarnTreasures at 827 S. Main Street, Winnsboro, and the business hours are Wednesday - Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm.
Pick-Up
Each of our auctions will have pickup dates and time noted. Please be sure you can pick up any items you win during the time periods noted.
If you want to bid and cannot pick up your items during these times, you must contact us before bidding. We will do our best to arrange an alternate time for pickup if we can.
If you do not pick up your items during the pickup period or a pre-arranged alternate period, your credit card may be charged for your items, and they may be resold at our next auction.
