then follow the steps. There is an email verification step, then when email is verified, there is a form to be filled in. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE YOUR EMAIL FAIRLY QUICKLY, PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM OR JUNK FOLDER. (We are sorry for that possible inconvenience, but sometimes that happens.) You are able to select your own password; make it something easy for you to remember.
You will be assigned a bidder number and it will be emailed to you. Your bidder number and password will be valid for all auctions on our site. Once you are registered, all you have to do to register for a new auction is to enter your bidder number and password, check a box to agree to the terms and conditions for that auction, and submit bids.
We will not charge your credit card unless you do not pick up the items you win in our auction.
Click the "Enter Auction" link on the Home page.
You will see a list of current and past auctions. Click on an auction and you will see details of the auction.
Under the Categories section,click the "ALL ITEMS" link to browse all the items in the catalog.
Click on an item you are interested in to see a larger photo. Many of the items will have multiple photos which you can also see when you click on the item.
When an auction is open for bidding, there are two boxes next to each item for entering bids. The first one is "Your Bid", and the second one is "Your Maximum".
In the "Your Bid" box, you can enter an amount equal to or higher than the "Next Required Bid".
In the "Maximum Bid", you can also enter a maximum bid if you wish. If you enter amounts in both boxes, proxy bidding will be used to increase your bid up to your maximum as other bidders place bids. This way, you can put your bids in early if you wish and have your bid automatically increase up to your maximum.
You can enter bids on one or more items on a page. Once you have entered your bids, you must scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the "Submit Bids" button. Once you do, you will be presented with a confirmation screen where you can verify your bid amounts and submit your bids. You must click the "Submit Bids" button before leaving the page.
Refresh your screen occasionally to make sure you have the most up to date info, (how much time is remaining on an item? Have you been outbid?)
The items in our auctions do not all end at the same time. Instead, we use a "rolling" or "staggered" close. The auction will note the closing rate, which is usually 4-5 items per minute. So, for example, if the auction begins closing at 7:00 p.m. at the rate of 4 items per minute, items 1, 2, 3, & 4 will end at 7:00 p.m., items 5, 6, 7, & 8 will end at 7:01, and so on. See also, "Soft Close" below.
Our auctions use a "Soft Close" which means that the remaining time for an item is extended if a bid is placed for the item within the last 5 minutes. This gives you time to place a higher bid if you wish, if you are outbid at the last minute.
Auction items are available for preview at set times during each auction.
We strongly encourage you to preview the items in the auction if you can. We do our best to take good pictures and describe each item as accurately as possible, but there is nothing like seeing the item for yourself.
We operate out of the back of Red Barn Antiques & More, and their business hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm. It is best to call first to see if David or Judy will be in so that we can answer more of your questions. Red Barn is a separate business and might not know what you are looking for.
Each of our auctions will have pickup dates and time noted. Please be sure you can pick up any items you win during the time periods noted.
If you want to bid and cannot pick up your items during these times, you must contact us before bidding. We will do our best to arrange an alternate time for pickup if we can.
If you do not pick up your items during the pickup period or a pre-arranged alternate period, your credit card may be charged for your items, and they may be resold at our next auction.
